Horrocks Engineers, Inc. is growing and has an immediate opening for a full-time Human Resources Manager in our Pleasant Grove, Utah office.

Job Description

Horrocks Engineers Human Resources Manager proactively provides accurate, timely, and effective Human Resources support in accordance to best practice standards and organizational priorities.

KEY ACTIVITIES:

  • Visualize and implement Horrocks Engineers vision and core values
  • Coordinate with key departments to drive the seamless and effective on-boarding of new employees
  • Process employee changes in a timely and accurate matter
  • Complete and/or submit regular annual reports
  • Partner with HR team to ensure compliance with Federal and State regulatory statutes
  • Provide administrative support to recruiting activities by posting jobs, tracking applicants, and communicating with candidates, etc.
  • Assist in the collection, maintenance, and integration of EEO and AAP data and survey results
  • Partner with senior management to create, implement, and track business processes that support organizational interests
  • Maintain employee files and relevant employment documents in accordance with existing legal standards and company processes
  • Provide exceptional customer service while maintaining the highest degree of accuracy, confidentiality and timeliness
  • Proactively anticipate organizational needs and provide effective, value-adding solutions
  • Maintain a working knowledge of practices, legislation, and developments relevant to the HR profession
  • Assist with employees and managers regarding FMLA administration
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures as outlined in the employee handbook, etc.
  • Perform other duties as required

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • Strong analytical and data-processing skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suites with intermediate to advanced expertise in Excel
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strong process/task orientation
  • Basic knowledge of core principles and practices of HR
  • Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks with strong attention to detail
  • Knowledgeable in employee benefits and regulatory requirements
  • Working knowledge of State and Federal employment laws
  • Strong decision making skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to build strong work relationships conducive to furthering the HR mission and corporate strategy

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • 5-10 years of Human Resources or related experience
  • PHR certification a plus

Position Available for Vacuum Excavation Truck Operator

We are looking to fill an opening for an experienced Vacuum Excavation Truck Operator to work out of our Pleasant Grove, Utah office.

Horrocks Engineers is seeking an experienced, career minded individual to join our Utility Services Department.

  • Drive a Ford F650 1½ ton vacuum excavation truck to and from job sites
  • Clean driving record a must & CDL helpful
  • General knowledge of vacuum excavation operations a must
  • Full-time, some overtime may be required
  • Some travel out of state with overnight stays may required
  • Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) knowledge a plus
  • Underground Utility Designating using Electromagnetic Cable Locators a plus

Position Available for Experienced Marketing Manager

Horrocks Engineers is looking for a career and goal-oriented individual to join our fast-paced, deadline-driven, and growing Communications Department. The full-time position is located in our Henderson, Nevada, office and will require 5-10 years of A/E/C industry marketing experience, excellent technical writing skills, advanced Adobe Creative Suite skills, communication skills, and the ability to follow instructions and work in groups. Applicant must have a bachelor’s degree in communications, English, marketing, or equivalent. This is a marketing production and strategy position. Ideal candidates will be able to manage and coordinate the entire SOQ/technical proposal process including pre-selling/client development, marketing strategy, responses to RFPs/RFQs including attending pre-submittal meetings, submittal strategy/coordination, technical and marketing writing/editing, layout and design (using Adobe products), and final production (printing, binding, delivery, etc.). The position will primarily support Horrocks Engineers’ Nevada and Arizona proposal efforts.

Horrocks’ Communications Department is responsible for internal and external company communications, which includes: regional marketing, project strategizing, writing and producing marketing materials and company documents, event management, public relations, community involvement, media relations, and producing technical illustrations and graphics as needed.

Applicant will build, maintain, analyze, troubleshoot, and repair computer hardware and peripherals. Document, maintain, upgrade or replace computer software. Respond to telephone calls, email, and personnel requests for technical support on a variety of issues. Identify, research, and resolve technical problems. Document, track, and monitor problems to ensure a timely resolution.

Requires experience with PC hardware assembly, software installation, and troubleshooting. Have knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures relating to computer hardware and software.

Position Available for Civil Engineer / Project Manager

Horrocks Engineers has an immediate opening for a full-time Civil Engineer/ Project Manager in our St George office. Candidate must be a graduate with a B.S. or M.S. degree in Civil Engineering and have a minimum of 8 years of experience with residential and commercial Land Development. Candidate must be a licensed professional engineer and be able to obtain a Utah and Nevada license within 6 months of hire. Successful candidate will serve both as a project engineer and project manager on select Land Development projects. Must be able to communicate effectively and work well in a fast paced and innovative team environment. Experience in AutoCAD Civil 3D is required and the ability to learn and use cutting-edge Land Development software is a plus.
