Position Available for CAD Technician/Drafter

Horrocks Engineers is currently looking for a motivated team player to join our team in Pleasant Grove, UT. Applicant must have an associate’s degree or equivalent technical degree as well as AutoCAD Civil 3D experience and MicroStation and InRoads experience. Description

Responsibilities:

  • Structures lead for design of bridges and other transportation structures working in our Nampa ID Office
  • Assist in building a strong regional presence for the firm in transportation and structural engineering
  • Manage project scopes and budgets for small and large design projects
  • Prepare proposal content and meet with clients for marketing purposes
  • Work in cooperation with bridge staff to deliver contract documents on time and within the project budget for local agencies, federal agencies and state DOTs
  • Prepare designs, quantity take-offs, cost estimates, and specifications
  • Perform or check bridge designs using Conspan, RCPier, CSIBridge, BRASS and/or other bridge software
  • Design or check retaining walls, box culverts and other structural components in support of roadway or site civil projects
  • Establish and maintain client relationships; ensure client satisfaction; ensure client objectives are met
  • Option to actively participate in our bridge inspection projects as a member of the inspection team

 Requirements:

  • B.S. or M.S. degree in Civil Engineering
  • Idaho P.E. preferred
  • Experience in bridge design required
  • Willingness to work on projects locally or in workshare with other offices, some travel required
  • 5-10+ years engineering experience with a background in structural and transportation design
  • Design Build, CM/GC & Alternative Project Delivery Program Management experience a plus
  • Solid understanding of civil design and construction standards, and environmental conditions/constraints
  • Possess a proven history of meeting project deadlines and budgets
  • Demonstrated skills developing relationships with municipal, county, and state agencies in support of transportation and/or site civil projects in Idaho including ITD
  • Experience with Microstation and/or AutoCAD with InRoads or Civil 3D a plus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with clients, staff, and management
  • Adaptability and ability to respond quickly and accurately under pressure
